Lucky Wang at 1435 Lexington is now open!
About Us
The Lucky Wang brand officially started in September of 1995. Our first products were accessories made of a “tinsel yarn” material. The most popular shapes were changes purses and small cosmetics pouches. The first shop to carry Lucky Wang was Patricia Field on W. 8th St. In 1996, we opened a Lucky Wang boutique selling these fuzzy creations on Stanton St. in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. In 2001, Emily Wang, designer and founder, was expecting her first child. As most stories go, she started to turn her focus to children’s designs. The first Lucky Wang baby product, an infant kimono packaged in a sushi box, became an instant hit. In 2001, Lucky Wang moved from Stanton St. to our current Broadway location. Emily decided to have a children’s clothing store catering to the generation of new parents who were likely to have tattoos and hang out at Thompkins Square Park with their babies. With our brief history as a reference point, we hope to be bring our entire collection of products sold in our stores to you online. Please stay tuned and check back often.
